Bruce Renner Receives Horace Mann Award

Bruce Renner, Springfield School Board member, was the recipient of the Horace Mann Award for Organizational Achievement at the Missouri NEA spring conference on April 24, 2010.

Renner has served on the Springfield Board of Education for over 17 years and has been a longtime friend of teachers and public education. Ray Smith, President of Springfield NEA, presented the award on behalf of Springfield NEA and Missouri NEA.

"Bruce Renner has quietly made his mark as a remarkable public figure in Springfield for nearly twenty years. His support for public education, students and teachers has been a clear example of selfless and tireless public service," Smith said.
