Springfield NEA Elects New Officers and Board Members
Last week, SNEA members concluded nominations for officers and board positions. For the first time in several years, there were exactly the same number of candidates as there were open positions (8), so all were elected by acclamation at the April 18 General Meeting.
President (3 year term) - Kittilu Maxson (Wilder)
Vice President (3 year) - Chris Smith (Westport/York)
Secretary (2 year) - Vicky Scott (Cowden/Holland)
Treasurer (2 year) - Shannon Benne (Watkins)
At-Large (2 year) - Melissa Albright (Wilson's Creek)
At-Large (2 year) - Barbara Bartels (Parkview)
At-Large (2 year) - Sarah Schofield (Sequiota)
At-Large (2 year) - Kathy Stephens (Kickapoo)
They join the following At-Large members who are currently in the middle of serving two-year terms:
Gabe Isackson (Parkview)
Rebecca Jamieson (Hickory Hills)
Rita Johnson (Parkview)
Patty Pogue (Study/Westport)
Brent Fullington Elected Missouri NEA Vice President
Brent Fullington (Cherokee), who has served on the SNEA Board for many years, was recently elected as Missouri NEA Vice President. Brent will be moving to Jefferson City as the first Springfield NEA member to have been elected to serve as a state officer in our association. Congratulations Brent!
Tuesday, May 14 - SNEA EOY Party
Please mark your calendar and plan to attend the SNEA End of Year Party, which will be in an Open House format from 4:15-6:30.
It's a farewell to Ray Smith after seven years as President of our local association as well as a farewell toast to the 2012-13 school year . . . and a welcome to new officers and board members. Hope you can make it.
