Election 2008 - SNEA and MNEA Recommendations

Unlike other associations that dictate political endorsements from "on-high" to their membership, local affiliates are actively involved in forming political recommendations for MNEA.

An SNEA committee made up of local members spent the better part of two weekends interviewing candidates for the Missouri Legislature from all over our area of the state. Local president, Ray Smith, was part of the MNEA interview team for statewide candidates. SNEA Vice President, Kittilu Maxson (Wilder), represented our local and our region at statewide meetings to help determine MNEA recommendations for state legislature candidates.

Missouri NEA members are Democrats, Republicans and Independents. Improving public education and protecting children are the key issues that unite us and drive our recommendation process.
