It's Summer!
For many SPS teachers, SIP days are winding to a close, and we're out of the building for a couple of months trying to get a myriad of things done and spend more times with our families. My first full week in the Springfield NEA office begins Monday, and I know we'll hit the deck running with a bulk mailing that goes to all non-SNEA teachers in the district. I'll print the contents here after the mailing goes out. Many new teachers are in their classrooms, so it's a great time to sign up new members. There is a link on this site for membership under Joining SNEA - it couldn't be much easier.
Since most teachers are out of the buildings for a while and won't be checking their sps email, I'm sending these summer entries only to executive board members and some of our friends at MNEA, but please feel free to forward our weblog to any interested members.
Executive board members might want to start thinking about a day-long SNEA retreat to
discuss various topics and strategies for strengthening our organization and promoting our mission to improve public education in our community. Mid-July would fit my schedule best, but I'm flexible.Post stuff here if you like, I'll be checking in daily.
